Definitive Surgical Trauma Skills
Welcome to the DSTS e-learning module. The purpose of this module is to support the two-day course which consists of cadaveric workshops and interactive case scenarios.
DSTS is structured upon real-life scenario situations in trauma that require adequate understanding of the decision-making process. During the course, an experienced trauma faculty comprised of UK and international surgeons took you through the surgical exposures necessary in the thorax, neck, abdomen and limbs and you were trained on techniques that are required to treat haemorrhage. Essentials of the relevant surgical anatomy were demonstrated on real anatomical surgical prosections. The practical sessions were complemented by lectures which intended to provide you with a thorough knowledge of emerging technologies which may affect your decisions.
The e-learning module will solidify and expand on the course's learning objectives.
